SALUTING OUR ACADEMIC ACHIEVERS
THE 4TH AND 5TH STRAIGHT
This section is dedicated to the talented riders of BMX who have and are entering the next chapter of their life, adulthood and institutions of higher learning. As we move through life new doors open, old doors close and life changes. In BMX the 4th straight represents the latter part of the race, or crossing the finish line. As many BMXers reach the latter days of their teen years they are symbolically on their 4th straight and about to cross the finish line. For many this 4th straight represents the latter days of the good old rip roaring, carefree racing years. It is harder sometimes to let go of the 4th straight and move to the 5th straight. Why? Because the 5th straight represents change, setting aside some of the things you love so dear and taking on new and different challenges. It represents more responsibility and facing the real world. We know that the love and passion we have for the sport of BMX must be compromised and/or set aside to pursue the things that will make us productive adults.
If you are pursuing an advance degree (post high school) send us your picture and complete the Academic Achiever Form. We will post your 5th straight for all the BMX community to see.

Congratulations and remember, if you run your 5th straight with as much determination and passion commitment as you ran the previous straights you will continue to experience success. So here is a toast to the weekend worriers who are now embarking on a new chapter in their life. Thanks for the excitement and thrilling races you gave us at your local tracks and at the Nationals. Make us PROUD.
